Sections - Beavers - Badgework
The highest award in Beavers is the Chief Scouts's Bronze Award (left). To get this a Beaver must complete
the Outdoor Challenge, a personal challenge and either the Friendship or the Discovery Challenge. The
personal challenge involves: developing a new talent, skill or hobby, and then presenting this new skill
to the colony.
- The Outdoor Challenge: This involves walking, pitching tents, attending a sleepover, looking after
the environment and going on an educational visit or trip such as a zoo.
- The Discovery Challenge: This involves finding out how an object works. This could be a magnet,
clock or dye. Another part of the challenge is to keep a record of food, exercise and sleep over a
short period of time. The final part is to do something creative such as learning a song or craft.
- The Friendship Challenge: This involves researching about people in another country. Meeting people
in different lines of work ie, police, dentists or musicians. Beavers must also perform a caring act.
