Scouts Main Camp

Scout Main Camp was held at Penryn Bach campsite , near Church Bay on Isle of Anglesey. We arrived on the Saturday and set up camp.
The remainder of the day was spent down on the beach at Church Bay.
Sunday was spent on site completing set up followed by camp crafts and games.

On Monday we visited South Stack Lighthouse with a visit to top and a talk from one of the keepers.
This was followed by a visit to the R.S.P.B's Ellin's Tower. We returned to site late afternoon and cooked tea on open fires, backwoods style.
Tuesday, We took advantage of the Anglesey coastal path where as two groups the scouts were dropped off at Cemaes Bay and Wylfa Head and had to walk back to site approx 6 miles.

Wednesday was on the program as visit the Marques of Anglesey tower and 'Mystery'! This turned out to be a fishing trip from Beaumaris. We boarded two boats and sailed round the coast past Puffin Island where we started fishing.
The catch was none stop. Everybody caught plenty of mackerel which we took back to the site and prepared them for cooking. We had a BBQ tea this evening.

Thursday we went up to Amlwch and went swimming at the local pool. We returned to site after lunch and made cardboard ovens ready for friday tea.
On Friday we went on a town visit to Caernarfon. The Scouts were let loose here to go around the town on their own with their spending money.
On return to site we prepared the pizzas ready for cooking!! in the cardboard ovens.
Saturday we broke camp and returned home.
