We travelled down to 1st Uxbridge Scout Group HQ where we stayed for the weekend.
We travelled into London on Saturday morning on the underground
and headed for London Bridge tube station where we visited
We then walked along the Embankment and over Tower Bridge to spend the afternoon at the Tower of London.
Visits to the White Tower and the Crown Jewels were the highlight of the day.
Whilst we were in the grounds of the Tower four Cubs were invested.
We left there and headed for a McDonalds tea at Cannon Street
followed by a brief visit to the Monument. We then boarded the tube back to Uxbridge.
Again we boarded the tube at Uxbridge and travelled to Westminster for a privileged visit to 10 Downing St. After may photos outside the famous front door we left Downing St walked up Whitehall to Trafalgar Square and then through Horse Guards Parade to Buckingham Palace.
After a photo shoot outside the gates we had lunch in Green Park and then boarded the tube to South Kensington for a visit to the Butterfly Jungle at the Natural History Museum.
As Baden Powell House is nextdoor we then went for a photo shoot with our founder.
A short trip back to Uxbridge on the tube and our departure back to Hazel Grove.
The weather could not have been better with temperatures in the high teens
An enjoyable weekend was had by all
