The cub family camp is a great opportunity for the parents to see what the
lads get up to on weekends away. They join in with all of the activities
and have just as good a time as the lads. This year's cub family camp was
themed on Chinease New Year. All the activities and bases were themed on this, from
making our very own multi-coloured 'Terracotta' Army to puzzels and Chinease quizzes!
As well as these bases the old favourites were thrown in, climbing, archery and
shooting.
The shooting competition was tense, as all members of each team took it
in turn to shoot at the same target. The winning team geting over 70 points.
Climbing was another fun base with each team being marked on effort and
willingness to give it a go. Most parents were shown up by their kids,
who all put in a great effort.
As you can see the 'Terracota' Army wasn't very terracota, but everyone
enjoyed decorating their Pringles tubes.
With the weather deteriorating the camp fire was moved to the ecology
room and a warmer indoor sing song was held.
On Sunday less physical and more mental challenges are in store. For
example, which team can build the highest Jenga block tower, playing
the game following the usual rules.
Another of the less physically challenging tasks was choreographing a
dragon dance. You may not know what this is but I'm sure you have all
seen the large paper dragons in carnivals, that was the idea anyway!
Building a chariot to carry a Chinease Emperer was another task.
The chariot was replaced with some wood and ropes and the Emperer
was replaced by the lightest member of the team.

Another outdoor investiture. Akela likes to invest her new Cubs in strange and unusual places. These places have included 10 Downing Street and in the sea. Can anyone beat this. Let us know where you got invested by emailing us at
